ABOUT
ME

Hi there. My name is Laurie and welcome to my website. I hope that I can help you along whatever musical journey you’re already on whilst you’re here.

Music has been a large part of my life for as long as I can remember, starting with my first musical theatre role at the age of 5! After pursuing performance as a hobby throughout my youth, I was lucky enough to study Musical Theatre full time at the prestigious Guildford School of Acting, graduating in 2017.

Since then, I have had the opportunity of working as a Musical Director and Arranger on existing and original musicals, as a Composer for both film and television projects, and as a Teacher at a variety of performing arts schools. Please have a look around to find out more about my professional experience and the services I have on offer.

TESTIMONIALS

Ian McFarlane

writer/director of around the world in 80s Days

"Laurie provided the most incredible arrangements for Around The World In 80s Days managing to both honour the pop music whilst creating a sophisticated musical theatre sound. His work on the score was appealing to the fans of the 80s tunes and musical theatre aficionados alike, which is no easy task!"

FRANCES FOX

PREVIOUS MEMBER OF CARRY ON SINGING

"Laurie is a wonderfully enthusiastic choir master who makes every session totally enjoyable, as well as thoroughly professional. He always works hard to bring out the very best in everyone he teaches."

GUY RETALLACK

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF THE BRIDGE HOUSE THEATRE

"I was lucky enough to have Laurie as Musical Director for the premiere of Plaid Tidings, a glorious musical, that required him to teach and direct the company a diverse and complex set of songs. Laurie made the work easy and accessible, simultaneously mining both the songs and the piece for maximum theatricality. A great teacher and collaborator."

ELIZABETH WITT

CO-PRINCIPAL OF THE DANCE CONSORTIUM

"Laurie has an infectious energy about him whenever he teaches. He’s a hard worker and certainly brings out the best in our pupils. We’ve had glowing reports from both the students and parents since he began teaching ensemble singing lessons at The Dance Consortium. "
